Supporting Early Education in the Age of AI

Early childhood education is changing. Digital tools are now part of everyday learning. Digital tools are already part of everyday life, yet many educators and parents still feel unsure about how to use Artificial Intelligence in a meaningful way.

This is where Digital ECEC 2 comes in.

Funded by Erasmus+, this initiative brings together eight organisations from Lithuania, Greece, Italy, and Serbia, working over 26 months with a shared goal: to support the digital transformation of early childhood education (ECEC) in a way that feels practical, clear, and relevant.

Rather than focusing on complex technology, the project looks at how Artificial Intelligence can fit naturally into daily educational practice. It explores how teachers can plan activities more efficiently, how parents can become more involved in learning, and how school management can improve organisation and communication.

To support this, three main results are being developed.

First, an AI-focused e-learning course for teachers and parents. This course will introduce key concepts and provide practical examples that can be applied in everyday situations.

Second, a library of AI-enhanced pedagogical tools. This library will include ready-to-use activities and resources that support learning through simple digital tools.

Third, an AI roadmap for ECEC management and administration. This roadmap will guide organisations in using AI to improve planning, communication, and decision-making.

The focus is simple. Make AI understandable. Make it useful. Make it relevant to real people working in early education.
